When Havelyn launched in Pakistan in 2022 as an original Korean-formulated hair and skincare brand, we didn't expect how quickly our name would be targeted by copycats.
How It Happened
As demand for the Original Havelyn Hair Food Oil grew, several unauthorized local sellers — most traced back to Lahore — began:
- Copying our product name, logo, and packaging design exactly
- Using our own product photos and descriptions without permission
- Manufacturing cheap, unverified local versions filled with harsh chemicals (some tested positive for high levels of Mercury)
- Shipping these fake products from Lahore, while our authentic parcels have only ever shipped from Karachi
- Paying social media influencers to promote these fake products as if they were "a local Pakistani brand," when in the beginning these same sellers had publicly admitted Havelyn was an original Korean brand
The Damage This Caused
Customers who unknowingly bought these fake products reported skin darkening after stopping use, acne breakouts, painful irritation, and products that simply didn't match what was advertised. None of this reflects our original Korean formula — it reflects cheap, unauthorized local manufacturing wearing our name.
What We Did About It
We could not keep fighting an endless string of copycats under the same name. So we made a decision: Havelyn is now MANETAIN. A new name, a fresh identity, and a clean break from every unauthorized seller who has been exploiting our old name.
Our products, our formula, and our quality have not changed — only the name, so our genuine customers can shop with confidence again.
